Inurface Media installs digital menu boards for Stena Line
Inurface Media has completed the installation of two sets of menu boards on Superfast VII and Superfast VIII.
Stena Line, an ABTA member, is an international transport and travel service company and one of the world’s leading ferry operators.
Stena Line operates in three business areas: Scandinavia, the North Sea and the Irish Sea with a network of 18 strategically located ferry routes in Europe. Stena Line has a modern fleet with a total of 35 vessels including fast ferries (Stena HSS), traditional combi-ferries, RoPax ferries for freight and passengers, and pure cargo ships.
Stena Line is a stable and profitable group and is committed to providing passengers with the best service and experience possible.
During 2009, approximately 15.4 million passengers traveled with Stena Line. 3.3 million cars and 1.6 million freight units were transported during the same period.
The Stena Line ferry project
Inurface media was asked to provide a menu board solution for their two latest Superfast ferries, Superfast VII and Superfast VIII, following a £26 million refurbishment.
Stena Line needed a flexible solution which allowed either the remote IT department or onboard customer service team to update the menu boards with the latest information.
Inurface Media installed Advantech media players, which were configured with our digital signage software, to allow centralised content deployment from our server. The players powered half height, professional grade wide-screen NEC panels giving the on-board Taste restaurant a unique look.
Stena Line is working with Inurface Media in order to consolidate all their current digital signage projects with one company.
Stephen Bryden of Stena Line said
“Inurface media have provided an excellent menu board solution for our new ‘Taste’ food concept onboard Stena Superfast VII & VIII. The solution has been specifi cally designed for our requirements and we are delighted with the result and ongoing support from Inurface. We are looking forward to working further with Inurface to develop other revenue enhancing solutions for our vessels in the future”
Speaking about the project, Josh Bunce Managing Director of Inurface Media said:
“It was great to get involved in the two Superfast vessels and be part of their refurbishment. For Stena Line it was very important that they have the flexibility of changing the content on the screens from anywhere in the world, while at the same time having a company that can support them if a problem arises.
I am extremely happy we have completed another successful project with Stena Line as they are a great company to work with and we are looking forward to working with them on their future digital signage projects.”
