Liberty Center is the result of a partnership between two world-class developers and numerous other entities focused on specific components of the mixed-use Development.

Liberty Center is a multi-use center that brings together the community’s recreational, social and civic passions by anchoring its citizen’s state-of-mind to an attainable state-of-being.

Liberty Center unites beloved shopping destinations, with an eclectic range of dining options, exciting events and entertainment venues.

Situated between Cincinnati and Dayton, Liberty Center brings together over 100 acres to form the most community-centric and balanced approach to private-public partnerships in the region.

About the Project

Inurface Media delivered a multi layered solution to improve the wayfinding and advertising within the new Liberty Centre. The solution comprised of 8 outdoor touch screen double sided IP55 rated totems, 8 indoor double sided touch totems. We also provided various internal wall mounted touch screens for the concierge area. As part of the project we physically installed the equipment and ran the Catx and Fiber cables to each location.

Outdoor IP55 Rated Totems

Our outdoor totems are bespokely built for the Liberty Centre. They are double sided, one side touch with one side non touch, fully IP55 rated structures. Internally they contain 55inch Dynascan screens, working at 3000nits, premium Zytronic touch glass and a custom designed cooling solution designed to keep the Totems operating in an extremely varied environment (minus 20 to plus 30 degrees Celsius) the media players for each screen are located within the Totem as are all the additional components such as heating elements (for cold boots during low temperatures) and fibre optic convertors for placing the Totems outside of the 100m limit for Catx.

The touch side of the Totem runs a custom Google maps bespoke design for the centre. This maps out all the shops and services on offer along with discrete promotions, wayfinding assistance (for both general and wheelchair friendly routes) in one easy to use interface.

The non-touch side of the Totems runs within the Scala CMS and allows the Liberty Centre marketing staff the ability to deploy promotions and content from anywhere in the world to their screens quickly and easily.

The Liberty Centre completely controlled the look of the Totems and we manufactured it to their specifications, matching their company colours, laser cutting out their logo and back lighting it.

Indoor Totems and Displays

Our indoor Totems are dual sided, running a touch and non-touch screen with a similar purpose to the outdoor Totems, but are built to commercial standards so that they survive the constant throughput of members of the public using them for up to 12 hours a day, every day of the year.

Also within the centre are several Bauer 42inch Touch displays, mounted to either take the Wayfinding map in portrait, or landscape to accept advertising and promotions, plus a large 70inch touch screen mounted in the concierge area to entertain visitors while they wait for assistance and to inform them of up and coming events.

Additional work in the Centre and ongoing support

On top of the Totem manufacturing we also installed the structures in the Centre. We mounted the Totems on stone plinths to increase their presence, carrying out the structural assessments necessary to ensure their weight and wind load would be entirely negated by the mounting.

We also carried out all the cabling work required to network the Totems so this included running and terminating 10 kilometres of Cat6 cable and Fiber Optic cable.
