About the Client
Chelsea Football Club was founded in 1905, and since then has been known as a world class football club in the Premier League, with fans spanning the entire world. Winning 28 major trophies, it also has a history of top performance. Since the very beginning it’s home has been at Stamford Bridge in south London, is listed in the top ten most valuable football clubs in the world, and the sixth highest average all-time attendance in English football. The blue lion on their crest is as iconic as the name, and easily recognizable even to a casual follower, making Chelsea FC a prominent fixture in the football world.
The Challenge
Chelsea Football Club came to inurface media with a question, how do we improve the fan experience around the stadium and educate them about everything available during their visit? No matter what entrance or area of the stadium a fan was in, they wanted to make sure they knew where everything was, how to get to the mega store, game time information, and other general knowledge about game day and off game day. They wanted to take an already engaged audience, and engage with them further.
It was very important to Chelsea FC that what was installed onsite was branded properly to match the stadium look and feel. The content running on screen had to be inline with Chelsea colors and look, and had to draw in the customers attention. With high standards that come with being a high end football club, they looked to inurface media to ensure that same standard was present in this new project.
The Solution
The first thing inurface media did was get to work on a housing for their 55″ and 65″ outdoor display screens. The structures also needed to be sealed properly due to the elements, and branded to Chelsea FC accordingly. 3000 nit commercial panels were used throughout the site to draw attention to the screens, and also provide enough brightness to be seen at any time of day. At the top of the totems inurface media installed the Chelsea logo that has custom LED back lighting. The free standing and wall mounted housings were built to the highest quality, with the totems anchored down by a steel base and dropped into place to ensure no movement.
An important part of the new totems and screens was the support both on game days and non game days. For this inurface media created a two level remote support system. During match days Chelsea FC has a two hour support window should any issues with content/screens arise, as well as inurface media proactively checking signals and content every match day early morning. For non match day next day support is provided to resolve any issues. As part of the support inurface media periodically checks and cleans the screens onsite to ensure top quality. This all leads to an exceptional fan experience from the moment they step onto the Stamford Bridge grounds.
